Sunderland's relegation to League One will mean there will be an inevitable exodus of players in the summer.

One player who could depart the Stadium of Light in search of a better standard of football is midfielder George Honeyman.

The 23-year-old has been a shining light in what has been an abysmal campaign for the Black Cats.

SPFL side Rangers could be an ideal destination for the young player, and the Scottish outfit could be tempted to submit an enquiry for the talented player.

Would Ibrox be a good platform for Honeyman? Should Coleman do everything to keep hold of the player?

We discuss....

George Dagless

He'd be ideal for the Gers.

They'd surely like to keep Sean Goss from QPR as well but even if they can't Honeyman would be a welcome addition.

He's too good to be stuck in League One with Sunderland and his quality on the ball would be a hit at Ibrox.

Ben Barkworth

Honeyman would be a bargain signing for Rangers due to Sunderland's relegation. It would be a good move for him personally because League One is a step below his quality.

Multiple English players have thrived there in the last few seasons and he could be the next one.

Alfie Burns

Honeyman has been a rare highlight for Sunderland this season, impressing on occasion despite his side’s struggles.

A move to Scottish football would be a good one for the player, and I think that Ibrox could be the ideal destination.

Honeyman would get regular football at Rangers, and would undoubtedly benefit from playing in a side challenging towards the top of a division.

Gary Hutchinson

Rangers would seemingly be a great fit for an ambitious young player wanting to take a fresh turn in his career.

The harsh truth is they're not ready to compete for the best players in the country, but if they can get a young star and develop him he could be worth a big fee.

This would be big for Rangers.
