Aston Villa are weighing up a January swoop for Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa, according to reports.

The 31-year-old simply is not getting a look in at the King Power Stadium, so a move away in January seems likely.

Would Ulloa be a good signing for Steve Bruce's side? Is he what they need?

This would be an impressive coup for Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

Ulloa’s opportunities with Leicester City have been limited, and a loan move in January could suit all parties involved – particularly Aston Villa, who could be without Jonathan Kodjia for the remainder of the season.

Bruce wants to bolster his attack in the New Year, and the addition of a player like Ulloa could prove to be the deal that fires Villa to promotion.

Sign him up!

Ulloa is proven in the Championship and would be the perfect striker to step up for the injured Jonathan Kodjia.

The player would surely relish the chance of regular football and Villa will be desperate to add someone of his quality. A good move all-round.

Adam Simeoni

I can't think of a better option for Villa in the new year than Leandro Ulloa.

The Argentine is a fantastic striker with a wonderful goal scoring record, and his form last year helped Brighton to secure promotion to the Premier League.

The player could score a lot of goals in this talented Aston Villa side, and could prove to be the missing ingredient that fires Bruce's side to promotion this season.

The more I think about it, the more I like it.

I'm not a Villa fan but I think Ulloa would be a pretty smart signing.

Sure, he isn't a marquee name but he is a good player who can score goals at this level easily.

I'd get after him if I was Steve Bruce.
