Sheffield Wednesday will be optimistic of making a push for promotion next season after the way they finished the previous campaign but new signings will be required.

And it looks like they have identified another target, with the Scottish Sun reporting that the Owls are ready to move for Kilmarnock defender Stuart Findlay.

Steve Bruce was apparently watching the club's 1-0 win against Hibernian last weekend, a win that helped them seal third place in the Scottish Premier League.

Findlay made the move to Kilmarnock from Newcastle United last summer and he still has 12 months remaining on his current deal at Rugby Park.

The 23-year-old was a crucial member of Steve Clarke's impressive side this season, making 27 league appearances and earning himself a call-up to the Scottish national side for their opening Euro 2020 qualifiers.

But would he be a good signing?

We discuss...

Gary Hutchinson

“Hard to say.

“Kilmarnock have done well this season, they’ve qualified for Europe, but would he settle in England?

“The Championship is a different pace, some thrive from the SPFL, like McGinn.

“Others, like Cummings at Forest, don’t. It’s very hit and miss.”

Toby Wilding

"This could be a good signing.

"Only Celtic and Rangers had a better defensive record in Scotland last season and Findlay has played a big part in that.

"With the future of a number of Wednesday's on loan defenders uncertain, they will need recruits at the back, and Findlay looks as though he could be a decent option for The Owls."

George Harbey

"I think this would be an excellent signing for Wednesday.

"They need to bolster their defensive options, especially if they don’t re-sign Michael Hector, and Findlay would be an exciting, young option to have.

"He has been one of many standout performers in an excellent season for Kilmarnock this term, and is fully deserving of a move to someone like Wednesday."
