Norwich City are just one club looking to snap-up Brentford centre-back Yoann Barbet in the summer when his contract expires, according to L'Equipe.

The Frenchman's contract is set to expire in the summer with a new deal looking unlikely meaning he will be free to move wherever he pleases during the transfer window.

Barbet has been an ever present in the Bees side this season, racking up 32 appearances and scoring one goal, with his ball-playing ability catching the eye of potential suitors.

The 25-year-old is capable of playing as a left-back as well as in his favoured central defensive position and it looks like he will be a very popular man come summer.

So, would he be a good signing for the Canaries?

We discuss...

Ben Lang

"This would be a shrewd signing.

"Barbet has proven his quality for Brentford over the years, while he is still fairly young so can develop even further.

"It also makes financial sense from Norwich's perspective, as they have a limited budget so need to go for savvy purchases such as this."

Gary Hutchinson

“I think so, yes.

“He’s a skilful and tricky player with lots of potential.

“It’s always going to be difficult for a player like him to remain happy in the Championship.

“He’d fit in nicely in the Premier League.”

Toby Wilding

"I think this would be a good signing for Norwich.

"Now they look certain to return to the Premier League they will need to strengthen their options, particularly if they lose others to teams further up the food chain.

"Barbet would do just that for the Canaries."
