West Ham United have identified Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli as the man they want to play between the sticks next season, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form for Slavisa Jokanovic's Fulham this season, as the Cottagers look to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Would Bettinelli be a good signing for the east London outfit?

 a great signing.

The Hammers are evidently looking for a new stopper and the Fulham man is a very decent one.

If the Cottagers go up, though, I have huge doubts that this would happen at all in the summer.

Bettinelli has impressed with Fulham this season after regaining the starting role from David Button.

West Ham's goalkeeping situation needs improving because Joe Hart has failed to impress on loan and Adrian is unreliable, so signing Bettinelli would be a good move.

West Ham need a new goalkeeper in the summer with Joe Hart's torrid loan spell set to end and Adrian hoping to leave the club.

Bettinelli has been solid for Fulham but he will probably stay with the Cottagers if they go up; if they fail to win promotion, he might be tempted by this Premier League switch.

The Hammers could do much worse than Bettinelli - who is a dependable and still relatively young stopper - but their top target needs to be Sam Johnstone.
