Reading are keen to sign Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer on a season-long loan, according to BBC Sport.

The 30-year-old has two-years left on his contract at the Liberty Stadium and would be linking up with Royals boss Paul Clement for the second time.

Clement's side have lost their opening three Championship games and the possible signing of Dyer could inject more pace and trickery into the final third.

He would be.

Reading need some more drive in their side and Dyer would surely provide that.

The Royals aren't far away from starting to win games and Dyer might just be able to help get them over the line.

Jay Williams

Given Dyer's experience in the top two divisions, he could be a shrewd acquisition on an initial loan.

The 30-year-old offers pace, directness and an eye for goal from the wing - something which could benefit Reading.

After three consecutive league losses and a number of injuries out wide, this needs to be the priority.

Initially signing Dyer on loan also gives Paul Clement and Reading the chance to run the rule over his impact in the team and decide whether to make his deal permanent.

Gary Hutchinson

This would be a great signing, if they can pull it off.

Dyer is creative, has bags of pace and would add a dimension to Reading’s attack that perhaps they don’t currently have.

It is surprising that Swansea don’t want to hang on to him though.

Surely he has to have enough about him for regular Championship football?

Jay Taylor

They certainly need a winger.

With a spate of injuries as of late, Reading look light in wide areas, and having lost their opening three games, they are in need of something to get their season going.

Dyer will be a good squad option and will add some experience and an attacking outlet to a side who look perfect bereft of ideas.

Christian Fuller

Nathan Dyer could potentially be a strong addition to the Reading squad.

Already with some pace and trickery out wide, although not that strong on the rest of the pitch, Reading could expose some sides with the addition of Dyer.

The experience and knowledge of the league could prove very important in what might be a tough season for the Royals.
