Nottingham Forest are weighing up a swoop for Hull City full-back Max Clark, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Would this be a good signing for Aitor Karanka's men?

If Forest had a regular first-choice left-back on their books, then I would say that Clarke could be a good back-up choice.

But if Karanka is looking to bring the 22-year-old in as a starter, then this is not a great signing.

Clark is still young and learning; he is not ready to help Forest launch a promotion bid next season.

But if the Reds can snap up a better left-back and then get Clark for a small compensation fee as a back-up, then this would be good business.

Could he come with Dawson as well?

Clark is a bright player who would add quality to Forest's spine.

He might not be massively experienced at the age of 22-years-old but he does have plenty of talent and can handle the Championship.

This would be a good signing.

I like what I’ve seen of Clark this season and I’m not surprised to hear Forest and Karanka are interested.

However, I’m not 100% sold that the City Ground is the best place for Clark to improve.

Karanka has put the emphasis on bringing experienced players in alongside Forest’s youngsters, and Clark doesn’t fit that at the age of 22.

It makes sense.

They're in need of a left-back and Clark fits the bill and will be available in the summer.

Aitor Karanka has built solid teams over the years and if he thinks Clark would benefit the Reds it should be enough for the Forest board and fans.
