Derby County have joined Nottingham Forest in the race to snap up in-demand striker Jack Marriott from Peterborough United, reports the Nottingham Post.

Would the 33-goal ace be a good signing for Frank Lampard's Rams? Can he step up to the Championship?

We discuss.....

Jay Williams

Selling Vydra for more than £10m and signing Marriott for £6.5m represents very good business for Derby.

The 23-year-old is young and hungry to score goals with a proven track record in the lower leagues.

You can just expect him to get better and be the man to fire Derby back to promotion contention.

George Dagless

It's worth a punt.

He'll always be a risk given his lack of experience at Championship level but someone needs to offer him the platform.

If Derby do not have the money they did of previous seasons it's worth them taking a punt.

Alfie Burns

Derby need to be moving some players out, but Marriott would bring freshness to their strikeforce if they make their move.

Marriott has been very good in League One and deserves a chance in the Championship.

With a little bit of patience, he could thrive at Derby.

Chris Gallagher

This would be a cracking signing for Lampard.

They need a younger, more energetic option up top and he is the answer.

Marriott will score goals and could be a steal for Frank Lampard.
