West Brom are leading the race to sign Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant, according to reports from TEAMtalk.

Grant has scored 18 goals in 42 Championship appearances for Town this season, but his future at the John Smith's Stadium looks uncertain beyond this term.

The Yorkshire Post reported on Sunday that Town are set to sell their star-man for £15m, following a bid from an unnamed Championship side.

According to TEAMtalk, that side looks to be West Brom, with the Baggies said to be leading the race to sign the prolific forward this summer.

Here, the FLW team discuss whether this would be a good signing for Albion...

George Dagless

Really good.

He's clearly very capable in the Championship and I think we'd see him do well in the Premier League as well.

He more than held his own in the top flight for Terriers despite them going down and I would expect him to achieve similar levels with the Baggies if they sign him and they are in the Premier League.

He's still a young player but he has bags of ability so I think this is a good potential signing for the men from the Black Country.

I really rate Karlan Grant as a player and he’s got potential to be a success whatever division West Brom find themselves playing in next season.

In his brief Premier League spell with Huddersfield, he was a bright spark and, given his age, he is only going to get better – particularly in a stronger squad.

If the worst happens and West Brom are playing Championship football again, he’s an unbelievable signing and this season’s problems would be solved. He’d get them 20+ goals.

Ultimately, this is a deal that needs to be done and with Huddersfield seemingly in a position where the will look to move the forward out, it’s only right a club of Albion’s calibre are in the mix for him.

What shirt number do each of these 14 West Brom players wear?

This would be a brilliant signing.

I had my doubts as to whether Grant would be good enough to step up to the Championship this season whilst with Huddersfield Town, but he's certainly done that.

Without his goal contribution, I think the Terriers would certainly be occupying one of the spots in the relegation zone.

West Brom are going to need a striker that can score goals consistently, as I think that's been the one thing they've been missing this season in the Championship.

If they win promotion into the Premier League this season, then I think signing Grant would be worth the punt, as he's an upgrade on the likes of Hal Robson-Kanu and Kenneth Zohore at this moment in time.
