Thomas Christiansen has delivered an interview following his dismissal at Leeds United earlier this month, with the former Elland Road boss highlighting Samuel Saiz’s suspension as a key reason behind his sacking.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Christiansen has highlighted Saiz’s six-match suspension, picked up against Newport County for spitting, as one of the defining moments of his time at Elland Road, which ended earlier this month after a lengthy winless streak.

Christiansen admits that his fast start to life in the Sky Bet Championship also proved to be part of his downfall, however, the loss of Saiz, who had been key during the first-half of the season, was a crushing blow.
