Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to spend big this summer, with owners Fosun set to invest heavily in their attempt to propel the Black Country side back to the fortunes of the Premier League.

Big money moves for Porto stars Ruben Neves and Willy Boly are expected to be completed in the coming days, and this is set to limit the opportunities of some already at the club, including Wolves’ young guns hoping for a consistent run in the Molineux side.

One young player who could be affected is 19-year-old Connor Ronan, who should search a loan move away from the club this summer in search of regular first-team action.

Ronan made his first team bow last season, but will need to regular start in the Football League if he is to one day become a first-team regular at the club.

The attacking midfielder needs to find a move in which he can shine, and a switch to Oldham could provide the youngster with the opportunity he so desperately needs.

The Latics struggled for goals last season, notching only 31 strikes in their 46 league games.

A stellar defensive performance kept the club in the division, but manager John Sheridan knows he must improve on this record if he is to avoid a relegation scrap next year.

Adding Wolves’ development team captain on loan would be a shrewd move, and if Ronan can find his feet in League One, he will certainly find the back of the net
