Manchester United are edging closer and closer to completing their first signing of the summer and it will be one of the EFL's brightest youngsters.

Daniel James burst onto the scene for Swansea City last season with his electric pace and impressive dribbling ability making him a much-talked about figure.

He came close to joining Leeds United back in January but it now looks like his wait has been rewarded with a Premier League move instead.

And the Daily Mail revealed further details of the deal reported that the winger's wage is set to jump to £67,000 per week.

So, what should we make of this?

We discuss...

Jacob Potter

"I'm not surprised by this.

"Man Utd are paying almost £20m for him, and he's a player with real quality and capability of stepping up to the Premier League.

"He was always going to get a decent pay rise, and the Old Trafford faithful will be keen to see him justify those hefty wages as soon as possible."

Toby Wilding

"You can't blame him for taking it.

"This will surely be a huge pay rise from what he is on at Swansea, and will have only further added to the appeal of joining a club such as Manchester United.

"Given the struggles United have had recently, I don't think this adds much pressure on James, of whom much will be expected anyway, and the Welshman certainly hasn't been affected by the expectations on him so far."

Louie Chandler

"It is more than deserved and to be expected.

"Manchester United are still one of the biggest clubs in the world so will happily pay players large wages no matter what level they have come from.

"James seems to be an excellent professional so I doubt any amount of money would have changed how he carries himself."
