Aston Villa youngster Callum O'Hare is being linked with a loan move to League One side Barnsley as they look for a route back into the second tier at the first time of asking.

The Tykes have started the season well, they've yet to concede a goal in the league and have scored ten in response. They've got ten points from twelve and are seemingly set for a proper promotion push.

As the season develops they'll need to use their whole squad which is why a move for O'Hare seems to make sense. The 20-year old made his Villa debut a year ago, but isn't quite ready for life in the top six of the Championship.

He should be comfortable in League One, especially in a free-flowing side such as Daniel Stendel's Barnsley. They're playing some lovely football and ensuring fans at Oakwell can forget last year's turgid relegation season.

Our panel discuss the possibility of a move to Barnsley and what it could mean for the ambitious Tykes...

George Dagless

It boosts their promotion charge.

The player is already good but he needs minutes to really start kicking on career-wise.

It Steve Bruce doesn't see him playing much this season it is a wise move for all involved.

Jay Williams

Aston Villa fans have been crying out for this young talent to get more game time but a loan move is sensible.

The 20-year-old is not quite the finished product and Villa fans will be eager to see him in action for another club, getting valuable first-team experience.

For Barnsley, they are going to receive one of the country's top young talents and he has a point to prove in senior football.

This could turn out to be an excellent signing for the Tykes and O'Hare's ability to play anywhere in midfield or even up front makes him a useful versatile option.

Gary Hutchinson

This will be a great signing.

O'Hare should have a big future ahead of him, he's another talented kid from the Villa academy and he's hungry to succeed.

In a side such as Barnsley that likes to have the ball at their feet and play, he'll thrive.

He could be a big player for them if they get the best from him.
