One of the obvious consequences of Leeds United failing to gain promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, is the high risk of top-flight clubs looking to make moves to sign the Whites players who have performed so well all season.

One of the aces in manager Marcelo Bielsa's squad this season has been midfielder Kalvin Phillips and his performances have caught the eye of Eddie Howe at Bournemouth, with the Cherries monitoring the 23-year-olds situation with a view to tabling a bid, according to Football Insider.

So would Phillips be a good signing for Bournemouth?

We discuss.........

Toby Wilding

"This could be a good move for Bournemouth.

"Arguably the one thing Eddie Howe's side has lacked in recent seasons has been a commanding presence in the centre of midfield, and Phillips would certainly offer that.

"Now it has been confirmed Leeds won't be in the Premier League next season, this is a deal he may be more open to."

Gary Hutchinson

“This was inevitable.

“Phillips is a good player and deserves a stab at the top flight.

“I can only imagine he’d cost a good price though, giving Leeds something to reinvest in the summer.

“He’ll do well for Bournemouth.”

Jacob Potter

"This would be an excellent signing by the Cherries.

"Phillips has been key to Leeds’ promotion bid this season, and without him, they wouldn’t have made the play-offs in my opinion.

"I’m expecting him to be one of the first players to be heading for the exit door, and Bournemouth would be the ideal destination for him."
