This silky PL winger needs to head to Bristol City on loan to bolster their options out wide

Bristol City made a winning start to the 2017/18 season, brushing Barnsley aside with a comfortable 3-1 win.

A brace for midfielder Bobby Reid and a debut strike by Famara Diedhiou ensured that the Robins kept all three points at Ashton Gate to kick start the new season on a positive note.

This performance was a vast improvement on last season.

Bristol City generally look like a better outfit across the field but there is still one area that needs addressing.

Lee Johnson is short on options out wide.

Since losing Lee Tomlin to Cardiff City, Bristol City have had a shortage of flair players in the attacking midfield areas.

Jamie Paterson is a potentially exciting player on his day but he is inconsistent whilst Callum O’Dowda is still young and learning.

Josh Brownhill was forced to play on the right on the opening day of the season and Lee Johnson will certainly be looking at wingers to bring in before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month.

One player he should definitely be looking at is Nathan Holland.

The West Ham youngster has been very impressive in pre-season, staking a claim for a spot in the first team at the London Stadium.

However, with Michail Antonio returning from injury soon to compete with Andre Ayew, Manuel Lanzini, Marko Arnautovic, Robert Snodgrass, Domingos Quina and Sofiane Feghouli for the attacking midfield spots, Nathan Holland might not get much game time.

The 19-year-old is a top talent with plenty of skill and he netted four goals and grabbed one assist in eleven youth games last season after joining from Everton in January.

The England youth international has an exciting future ahead of him and Bristol City, West Ham and Nathan Holland would all benefit from a season-long loan arrangement.

Bristol City fans – would Nathan Holland be a good signing? Let us know below…
