It has been a slow start to the 2017/18 Championship season for Fulham.

Three games have resulted in three draws with their only win so far this season coming against Wycombe in the League Cup first round.

Given the level of football the Cottagers were playing at times during the previous campaign it is surprising to see them start so slowly.

Someone who might be able to help Slavisa Jokanovic’s side is their newest signing from this summer’s transfer window, Sheyi Ojo.

The 20-year-old’s season long loan move from Anfield was confirmed by the club yesterday and in Ojo, Fulham have received one of England’s brightest stars.

The young winger has some first team experience within the Liverpool first team, making 13 appearances for them and managing four assists and one goal in the process.

Given that both Floyd Ayite and Lucas Piazon are currently out injured, Ojo will likely be thrust straight into the first team against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

His pace and dribbling ability will give the Wednesday defence some trouble and both Jokanovic and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping the youngster can prove his worth as quickly as possible.

Previous loan spells at Wigan and Wolves didn’t see a great return in terms of goals and assists per game.

His time at Wigan was especially disappointing for the forward as he failed to score or provide any assists in 11 games at the club.

Ojo is running out of time to impress elsewhere to break into the Liverpool first team on a consistent basis so he will be giving it his all, all season long which can only mean good things for Fulham.
