Mark Warburton has a clear style and way of playing, and it's fair to say it's producing mixed results so far at Nottingham Forest.

The Reds are 12th in the league, winning six and losing seven of their 13 games so far this season.

However, they are certainly playing the way that Warburton wants, with the tweet from @AttackStat below proving that.

The ex-Rangers boss demands that his side try to control possession and therefore the game and on the whole it's what they've done.

Yet, a combination of individual errors and players not able to play in the style has led to the mixed results.

That has prompted some fans to call for Warburton to adapt his approach and focus less on the short passing game that doesn't always work.

But, you can't imagine he will change his principles now. Despite their inconsistencies, Forest are only four points away from the play-off position and will no doubt be looking to close that gap in the coming weeks. They face Hull City away on Saturday evening, seeking their third away win of the season.

The Verdict

That stat illustrates how Mark Warburton wants to play and clearly his message is getting across to the players, even if results aren't great.

The style is very easy on the eye but sometimes not the most effective. Forest have conceded a lot of goals this season, which may be attributed to the way they play.

Nevertheless, Warburton won't change his way of playing now and it's down to the players to adapt and continue to keep the ball on the floor, or he won't use them.
