Adam Armstrong is a man who will be in demand this season with so many Championship sides struggling for goals last season.

It is likely that Newcastle United will want to loan him out again and their could well be a scramble for his signature.

One team who could be looking to bring him on board is the club who had him last season, Blackburn Rovers.

Armstrong spent the first half of the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers where he struggled to find his feet scoring just once in 20 games.

But at Ewood Park he rediscovered his touch, scoring nine and assisting two more in 21.

He is a striker who has guaranteed goals over the last few seasons and with 32-year-old Danny Graham leading the line, Armstrong would be welcome back at Blackburn.

But should they sign the 21-year-old?

We discuss...

Jay Williams

Armstrong works really well with Mowbray so it would be a great move for the player.

As things stand, Rovers are looking weak up front.

But adding the Newcastle youngster would bolster their front line and have them scoring goals with ease.

Adam Willmott

Yes.

The small-framed striker is a nightmare to deal with for defences and would be a welcome addition to the Rovers squad.

Chris Gallagher

They certainly should be targeting him.

He contributed a lot to their promotion and does well under Tony Mowbray. Rovers still need forwards and he would fit the bill.

Alfie Burns

This should be one of Mowbray’s priorities.

Armstrong fitted in at Ewood Park last season, and back in the Championship, he could prove to be a shrewd addition once again.

Blackburn fans would surely love to get him back on board.

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, absolutely. There's talk that Armstrong might only be able to cut it at League One level, but players mature and he clearly enjoys life at Ewood Park.

Mowbray should take the plunge.

George Dagless

Mowbray must be looking at it.

He's a forward who knows where the goal is and brings plenty of pace and attacking threat.

He gave Rovers an added cutting edge last season and I'd expect they'd love to bring him back.
