Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley looks set for a move to another Championship side, with Leeds United touted as a destination as far back as April of this year.

Bartley spent a full season at Elland Road in 2016-17 and is already something of a fans' favourite in Yorkshire, which would seemingly put them in the driving seat.

Recently, West Brom appear to have upped their efforts to take him to the Hawthorns, leaving Leeds a little out in the cold. Either way, after just 12 outings for Swansea last season, he appears to be on the move.

Should Leeds look to gazump West Brom in order to sign the 27-year old? The FLW team discuss.

Jay Williams

Absolutely - this should be Leeds' transfer priority. Bielsa likes to operate with three centre-halves and they currently have just two with Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper, as Paudie O'Connor looks set for a loan move.

Although Luke Ayling can play there, Bartley needs to be Leeds' number one target and they cannot let West Brom beat them to him.

He is a firm fans' favourite, an excellent defender at this level, a leader at the back and could get Jansson back to his best by rekindling that solid and formidable partnership they had in 2016/17.

George Dagless

Absolutely.

Leeds really should be in the driving seat for Bartley because of his stint there not so long ago but they have really struggled to get the move going.

West Brom are looking ambitious but the Whites cannot roll over.

Alfie Burns

Bartley’s a good centre-back, but I’m not convinced that Bielsa wants him on board.

The Argentine will probably look for a centre-back with a slightly different style to Bartley.

Leeds’ supporters will be disappointed, but it’s looking more likely that Bartley won’t be around next season.

Chris Gallagher

Without a doubt.

He is already a fans favourite, knows the club, got the best out of Pontus Jansson, is a top defender at this level and is available. There's no downside to signing him at all!

They should be going all-out for him.
