Norwich City have been in fine form recently, with five consecutive victories moving Daniel Farke’s side clear of the chasing pack in the Championship.

However, the form of the Canaries has surprised some, including David Prutton.

The pundit wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column: “We’ve got Norwich City two points clear at the top of it (the table) and that, to me, is something of a mystery.

“For the best part of a year I’ve been struggling to see exactly what Daniel Farke has been doing there but all of a sudden they’re on a roll, they’ve got chemistry in their team and they’re the club to catch (although given that the lead in the Championship has changed hands 15 times already, they shouldn’t be counting their chickens).”

Is Prutton’s claim about Norwich a fair one?

I don’t think anyone would have expected Norwich to be right up there this season.

They had a disappointing campaign last term, and expectations remained at a minimum especially after the departure of James Maddison in the summer.

But, Farke has done a sensational job this season - he’s replaced Maddison with the bargain of the season in Pukki, who just cannot stop scoring for club and country.

I think it’s a fair evaluation by Prutton.

Jacob Potter

I can understand where he's coming from, but it's extremely harsh.

His damning assessment on the Canaries' surprise start to the season is something that will anger some.

Yes, they may be a surprise package this season, but you don't get 17 games into the season and sit top of the table through luck.

Louie Chandler

This seems incredibly harsh.

Daniel Farke has got the Canaries playing some tremendous football and his summer signings have played a huge part in that.

Yes, their fine run of form has seemingly come from nowhere but to say their position is a mystery is just harsh, and dare I say, naive.
