Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that centre-back Ben White is the man to replace the suspended Kalvin Phillips in holding midfield.

Kalvin Phillips has been exceptional for Leeds under the Argentine’s management, demonstrating great defensive prowess and range of passing as the lynchpin to how the Whites look to play each week.

However, Bielsa received a huge blow as Phillips picked up his fifth caution of the season in Saturday’s 4-0 thumping of Middlesbrough, meaning that he receives an automatic one-match ban. This ban rules him out of this weekend’s Yorkshire derby when the Whites travel to the John Smith’s Stadium to face Huddersfield Town.

With Phillips’ position so important to the team, his absence will be sorely missed for the game and Bielsa has a job on his hands to select the right person to replace him. With Adam Forshaw and Jamie Shackleton still injured, it has paved the way for on-loan centre-back Ben White to move from defence into Phillips’ slot at the weekend.

White is another player who has shown great ability both in and out of possession in defence under Marcelo Bielsa and has demonstrated his great qualities on a regular basis for Leeds. Speaking to the club’s official site ahead of the derby, Bielsa had this to say on White’s midfield prospects: "We are working with [Ben] White on this position, he is going to substitute for Kalvin. It's a new position for him, but he has the skills to play there."

With Bielsa’s comments in mind on White, we take a look at how some fans have reacted to the imminent reshuffle in Leeds’ midfield...
