Queens Park Rangers lost 2-1 to Fulham in the Championship on Friday night, and R's stopper Joe Lumley came under a lot of scrutiny after the game.

Jordan Hugill gave the visiting QPR an unexpected lead after three-minutes against Fulham, before Aboubakar Kamara levelled things with a fine header midway through the first-half.

The game was tied until shortly after the hour-mark when Lumley kicked the ball straight to Stefan Johansen inside the QPR half who fed in Kamara for his second.

It was a bad mistake from Lumley, who arguably could've saved the follow-up finish from Kamara.

Lumley, 24, began the season at QPR's number one but was dropped for summer-signing Liam Kelly last month.

Kelly had a run of six games in goal for QPR but was dropped for the 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough before the international break, and was again left out of the match day squad at Craven Cottage.

It was understood that Kelly was carrying a small injury and in his absence, Lumley has been thrown back in goal for QPR.

If his performance against Boro was slightly unconvincing, albeit mistake-free, this one against Fulham was right down their with his worst this season.

All throughout the game, Lumley's distribution was terrible. Either from his hands or off the floor, distribution was Lumley's downfall against Fulham and it has been in all his time as a QPR player.

That's where Fulham gained the lead as well. Lumley looked down on confidence the whole game, especially when he had the ball in his hands or at his feet and when he tried to clear the ball it landed straight at Johansen's feet.

The mistake was punished and arguably for the second, Lumley didn't come out quickly enough and didn't stand his ground enough, making for an easy finish for the Frenchman.

It's easy to criticise footballers and especially goalkeepers, but Lumley didn't look up to scratch on Friday night and hasn't done all season. QPR are incredibly still without a clean sheet in the Championship this season and with the visit of Forest on Wednesday night, the search will likely go on.
