Queens Park Rangers host Middlesbrough in the Championship this weekend, and top-scorer Nahki Wells will be looking for a return to both winning and scoring ways.

The final game before the November international break, QPR will be looking to end a run of consecutive defeats in the Championship with the visit of struggling Middlesbrough this weekend.

Mark Warburton’s side have fallen short against Brentford and Leeds United in their last two fixtures, whilst Jonathan Woodgate's Boro have won just one of their last 11 games.

QPR were in this situation last month: going into the final fixture before the international break on the back of consecutive defeats, and came out with a fine home win over Blackburn Rovers.

A similar scenario at the weekend would go down well at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, and QPR also have a big chance to keep their first clean sheet of the season against a Boro side who’ve scored just six away goals this season.

The Bermuda forward rejoined the club on-loan in the summer and has enjoyed a fine start to the season - he’s scored seven goals from 13 games in the Championship this season.

With just one in his last four though, Wells will be desperate to get on the score-sheet this weekend and kick-start the goal-scoring form that he knows he's capable of.

He’ll want to do so before the international break and not take a mini-drought into the two week break.

Boro though have kept a fairly tight defence this season, conceding 19 in 15 games - 9 less than QPR have conceded this season.

Another game without a goal wouldn't do his confidence all that good, especially given some of the tough times he’s endured in his career with the likes of Burnley and even last season at QPR.

Wells has enjoyed his best start to a season in years under Warburton and he’ll be keen to keep that form going, and not risk himself dropping off and going however many games without scoring.

He’s certainly a confidence player, and QPR fans would love to see him bag at the weekend.
