Hull City’s transfer recruitment has been criticised at times this summer, but following an extremely impressive draw at Aston Villa to open their season, the Tigers are slowly beginning to convince people of their promotion credentials.

Boss Leonid Slutsky’s summer business is also beginning to pick up real pace, and claimed Saturday’s result would go a long way in convincing further potential recruits to join his club in the coming weeks.

It looks like Slutsky’s premonition could be set to come true, and the Tigers could be set to pull off a remarkable deal to bring Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa to the club on a season long loan deal.

The former CSKA Moscow man joined then Premier League champions Leicester City only last summer, but has failed to force his way into a regular first team berth.

The Foxes parted with almost £17 million to secure a deal for the player, and will hope a loan spell this semester will enable the 24-year-old to rediscover the form he showed in the Russian top flight.

With already 63 Nigerian caps to his name, an African Cup of Nations title and two World Cup goals against Argentina under his belt, Musa would represent a remarkable signing for a second tier club.

The player would slide straight into the starting eleven, and could form an absolutely devastating partnership with Abel Hernandez, with the Uruguayan proving himself deadly at this level in the past.

Musa is pacey, strong and powerful, and his direct running and acceleration will cause Championship defences of end of problems if he makes the move.

The player may have struggled in Leicester, but at Championship level, he could easily surpass the 20 goal mark and fire the Humberside outfit to an immediate Premier League return.

Would Musa be the Championship signing of the summer?
