These are exciting times for Nottingham Forest, with Aitor Karanka building an impressive looking playing squad at the City Ground ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

After last season’s disappointing mid-table finish in the Sky Bet Championship, Karanka hasn’t hung around this summer, making some big calls amongst his playing squad.

Joao Carvalho and Diogo Goncalves have been amongst the high-profile arrivals at the City Ground, whilst Michael Dawson and Costel Pantilimon have been added to bring real experience to Forest’s defensive line-up.

The most exciting part of Karanka’s new-look group is going to be going forwards, where Karanka has mixed Championship experience with some exceptional foreign talent.

The first time we will see Karanka’s new-look side in Championship action will be against Bristol City on the opening day of the season.

With that in mind, we take a look at the attack Forest could field against Bristol City…

Lolley’s impact during the second-half of last season was good, with the winger putting in some impressive performances.

Next season, he could be key to Forest’s attack, bringing a balance on the right side.

Carvalho has arrived in a club record deal, with the attacking midfielder a really exciting addition at the City Ground.

If he hits the ground running, Bristol City could be in serious trouble coming up against the 21-year-old.

Goncalves has arrived on-loan alongside Carvalho, and will expect to get a chance under Karanka.

Like his Portuguese teammate, he has the potential to be such a dangerous player in the Championship.

Bristol City won’t be looking forward to facing Goncalves.

Ahead of some talented players, we’re expecting to see Grabban, who has been signed from AFC Bournemouth.

Last season, the 30-year-old scored 20 goals, and ahead of this midfield, he could once again be lethal in the Championship.
