The Championship is back this weekend with plenty of sub-plots remaining to be solved in the second tier this season.

There's certainly still plenty to be played for this year in the second division but Leeds United need to be nearly perfect in their remaining games to avoid a mediocre mid-table finish.

For sure, then, they'll be looking for their players to step up in the coming weeks and one man who seems to be actually having a good season - despite some criticism - is Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

The forward has been handed some negative press this year but, in recent weeks, he has looked much more at home in a white shirt and has played well.

And, perhaps surprisingly given some of the stick he's received, he's third in terms of goals per minute this season in the Championship.

Indeed, as per Leeds-live, Lasogga is behind only Lewis Grabban and Matej Vydra with a goal coming every 142 minutes this season.

He's ahead of the likes of Leon Clarke, Billy Sharp and Albert Adomah this year, then, and that should suggest that he's going to have a decent time should he remain at Leeds.

The Verdict

It's been tough at times for Lasogga at Leeds but it's clear that he does have ability in front of goal.

For sure, some of his games have been bad and this stat doesn't excuse that but he's looked better in recent weeks and Leeds fans will hope that his confidence only continues to grow.
