Derby County recently appointed Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as Gary Rowett's successor and inevitably he will look to his former club for some players.

Lampard has already been linked with a swoop for young Chelsea left-back Jay Dasilva and you can expect him to use his special relationship with the London club to sign some talented loan stars.

But should Derby launch an optimistic bid for striker Tammy Abraham?

The young forward hit a remarkable 26 goals in 48 games for Bristol City as a teenager but his progress has stalled after a hit-and-miss loan stint at Swansea City.

Here, we look at his stats from last season's Swansea City spell and assess whether Derby should sign him on loan.

Abraham only hit five league goals and contributed with one assist last season in 31 outings, although 16 of those came off the bench.

With 1.4 shots per game and 1.3 aerial duels won each match on average, alongside a 67.7% pass completion rate, the twice-capped England international's stats are hardly impressive.

But perhaps he was not given the chances he deserved at Swansea and maybe he needs to drop down a division again to reach the next level.

If he moved to Derby, he would be the number one choice up front and that could do his confidence the world of good.

The 20-year-old may be aiming higher after a year in the top flight but Derby will be hopeful that their links with Lampard could land them a coup here.

And selling Matej Vydra could fund this move with Abraham definitely capable of replacing the Czech Republic international's goals.

If the 6ft 3in striker does arrive at Pride Park, you can expect a genuine promotion push next season.
