Mark Warburton is renowned for developing young talent into key performers, and looks set to continue with this trend after adding young goalkeeper Liam Bossin to his Reds side this summer.

The former Anderlecht shot stopper will link up with the club’s U23 side for the new campaign, but has the potential to become a serious contender for the number one spot in the coming years.

The 20-year-old was third choice at the Belgian giants last season and moved on to further his chances of first team action, and will join Forest with the intention of forcing his way into Warburton’s plans in the coming months.

Forest conceded a worrying 72 times in the league last year, second only to rock bottom Rotherham United, and Bossin will fancy his chances of first team action if that trend continues.

Born in Belgium, Bossin is eligible to represent Ireland through his mother, and has already made several appearances for the international U21 side in his short career.

In English football it may be argued that Bossin has a much better chance of continuing his progression in the international team, as access to footage of Bossin’s performances will be much easier to obtain in this country compared to his time in the reserve leagues in Belgium.

Bossin has been brought in as one for the future but could easily fill in next year, and Warburton has moved astutely to provide Forest with a player who in the near future, could become their established number one.
