Nottingham Forest are awash with a plethora of exciting young talent, and manager Mark Warburton will be delighted that he has such a selection of youngsters to choose from.

The likes of Zach Clough, Joe Worrall and Tyler Walker have all impressed in the starting XI this season, with Ben Osborn another to shine, as Forest go in pursuit of a place in the top six.

Such a turnaround from last season’s near relegation miss would mark a remarkable turn of events at the City Ground, and Warburton will truly be hailed as a Messiah if he can guide this talented bunch of youngsters into the Championship tox-six come May next year.

However, with such a talented pool of players to choose from comes great selection headaches, with some set to miss out.

One player to suffer from the strives of competition at the club is midfielder Matty Cash, another academy graduate with a bright future at the club, who has struggled to break into the first team this season after an injury picked up in preseason ruled him out for the opening months of the new campaign.

A goal against Derby County for the reserves on Monday will have come as a huge boost to the youngster, and provided manager Mark Warburton with further thinking ahead of the international break, but perhaps Cash should consider departing for pastures anew in January to secure the regular first team action he so desperately craves.

Fellow youngster Jorge Grant joined local rivals Notts County in the summer on loan, and the player has notched an incredible nine goals in only sixteen starts for the high-flying Magpies.

His form has seen him linked with a move back to the Championship, and perhaps Cash should consider following Grant’s example, and plying his trade at a lower level in an attempt to further his game to the stage in which his talents cannot be ignored.

Managers in League One and Two would be battle to secure Cash on a short-term deal, and the experience would do the 20-year-old the world of good.

Grant looks destined to return to the Championship in some capacity as a starter, and Cash could do exactly the same if he takes the plunge and pushes for a loan move.

He is still some way off the starting XI, so a move makes sense for all parties, and a switch could see Cash fulfil the massive potential he so clearly possesses.

Forest fans, do you think a loan move is the correct step for Cash at this stage of his career? Have your say below...
