Aitor Karanka will have high hopes for his time at Nottingham Forest.

Two time European Cup winners just looking for the spark that relights their intense football flame, he looks a perfect fit for them.

After all, he pushed Middlesbrough back into the big time so he has the right achievements on his CV.

One of the first loan signings he made was Portuguese centre back Tobias Figueiredo.

Figueiredo was deemed surplus to requirements at Sporting Lisbon, despite having represented Portugal from U15 level right through to U23.

Like Forest, the towering defender is looking for the catalyst to revive his flagging fortunes. Perhaps all have been fortunate that Karanka has come along.

Figueiredo has quickly established himself as a regular at Forest, making eight appearances and picking up four bookings in the process.

He's a towering defender, committed in the tackle but dominant in the air.

With him being surplus to requirements in Portugal, he'll be looking for a new club and it would seem Forest could be at the head of the queue.

He appears to be enjoying his football and with his background, he could easily play at a higher level.

One would imagine he'll be hoping to add full international honours to his current experience too, something only regular football will help him achieve.

How much would he be worth?

He's only 24-years old and has clearly got bags of potential, so here at FLW we feel he's got to be commanding a fee of around £4.5m.

Anything less would be a steal, but too much more would be a gross over estimation of his worth based on the fact his employers don't actually want him anymore.

We do feel though that spending a little now could reap huge rewards later, because Figueiredo has all the components to be a success in England.
