Norwich City finally picked up their first win of the season with a comfortable 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at Carrow Road, and new manager Daniel Farke will be delighted to record the first three points of his tenure.

The Canaries just about edged the game in East Anglia against a plucky R’s outfit, and the visitors will return to west London with their heads held high.

The stand out performer on the pitch however was Norwich’s Southampton loanee, Harrison Reed, and performances such as these suggests that the youngster could play a vital role in the success of the football club this season.

The 22-year-old was unleashed in a holding role last night, and it became abundantly clear that this is certainly his strongest position.

Reed dominated the middle of the park, making tackles and breaking up play to protect his back four, and was rewarded for his fine display with the second goal, which wrapped up the points for the home side.

The youngster is settling early into life in the Championship, and Farke will be impressed with the early form shown by his loan man.

Reed looked confident and assured behind a midfield pairing of Mario Vrancic and James Maddison, in what is a largely inexperienced midfield trio.

With a return to his parent club at the end of the season and the prospect of Premier League football on the horizon, if Reed must consistently perform to the level he did last night, Mauricio Pellegrino will have no choice but to elevate the academy graduate into his first team squad.

How impressed were you by Reed in midfield last night, Norwich fans?
