Nottingham Forest were mightily fortunate to hold onto their status as a Championship club last season with the Reds avoiding the drop by virtue of goal difference on the final day of the campaign.

The Reds' boss Mark Warburton spoke after the 3-0 win over Ipswich Town on the last day of the season how the club needed to use the survival as motivation to ensure that the club is never in a relegation battle again.

The summer promises to be pretty exciting for those of a Forest persuasion and with the club under new owners there is real optimism that the 2017/18 campaign can be one to remember.

Former Brentford boss Warburton is likely to search the transfer market for players with proven Championship credentials this summer and with Forest boasting a pretty good group of players already, he will know that any arrivals will need to be able to improve the current starting line-up.

One man who could be a quality addition for the Reds is outgoing Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans who is seemingly attracting interest from Scottish giants Rangers.

The 30-year-old scored six goals  in 24 appearances for the Canaries last season and his style of midfield play could be exactly what Forest need this summer as they look to replace Henri Lansbury who departed for Aston Villa in January.

Signing the Glaswegian-born midfielder could prove tricky when a club as big as Rangers are interested but if he is available for the paltry sum of £1 million then Forest would be foolish not to enter negotiations over a deal.

Nottingham Forest fans, would you welcome Dorrans to the City Ground? Let us know in the comments below!!!
