If there is one team who could make a challenge for promotion to the Championship then it will undoubtedly be Charlton Athletic, whom have recruited superbly this window to escape League One.

Whilst manager Karl Robinson doesn't feel many with optimism, it is the individuals who could surely become a threat in League One.

The strike force of Josh Magennis, Lee Novak and Tony Watt is unquestionably where the goals will come from but, the team is lacking a creative mastermind to contribute whenever Ricky Holmes happens to be absent and, for me, that man is Norwich City's bright talent James Maddison.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at Scottish side Aberdeen last term and the plentiful of praise he received hasn't gone unnoticed this side of the border, but he seemingly remains in the fringes of Daniel Farke's Norwich squad.

During his fourteen outings in Scotland, Maddison's talent saw him net two but his seven assists is what certainly caught the eye of many fans up and down the country; a ratio of one every other match is impressive.

It would be fair to say Charlton seem to be close to completing their summer recruitment but the addition of this man would definitely make the club a favourite for the top-six, or even the automatic promotion places.

A loan deal is the only way the Addicks will be able to prize James Maddison away from Carrow Road, with the player having put pen-to-paper on a long-term contract in East Anglia in June.
