Sheffield United have been linked with a move for Cardiff City forward, Gary Madine over a possible loan move according to BBC Sport.

The striker has fallen out of favour with the Premier League side and will be hoping to find himself regular first-team football in the near future.

Madine has made 19 appearances in total for the Bluebirds but is yet to score in his time with the club since moving from Bolton last year.

The move is likely to be met with a mixed reaction from the Sheffield United supporters, with Madine already having a well-publicised disagreement with a supporter of the club.

There will be arguments that Chris Wilder doesn't need another striker as he already has a number of attacking options available to him this season.

But would Madine be a good signing for Sheffield United?

We discuss....

George Harbey:

Aside from the controversy, I'm not sure Madine is the right player for the Blades.

He hasn't really scored a lot of goals over the last couple of years, and doesn't offer anything different to what Leon Clarke and David McGoldrick provide.

They can do better.

Gary Hutchinson:

Is it a good idea to sign a player who once punched one of your supporters simply for being a fan of your club?

No, it certainly isn't.

This move is utterly ridiculous.

How an earth can Wilder comprehend making such an unpopular decision.

Jacob Potter:

This would be a very unpopular decision.

Madine hasn't got the best reputation and this move wouldn't go down well with Sheffield United supporters.

He is a good player, but their should be other factors that have to be considered here.
