Luton Town boss suffered a blow last month as his key asset Jake Gray was sold to League Two rivals Yeovil Town, and that decision could be a regrettable settlement for the Hatters in twelve month's time.

Boss Nathan Jones, one of the rising talents on the Football League's touchline, wouldn't have been satisfied with the exit of the midfielder but it is time to move on and the former Brighton assistant manager will need to act quickly to bag a replacement.

This is why I highly suggest Everton teenager Liam Walsh should become the prime target for Jones this summer as a potential substitution for Gray, formerly of Yeovil Town as well.

The 19-year-old is a keen figure for the first-team at Goodison Park which would subsequently mean a loan deal is the best possible outcome the Luton, a temporary solution to boost their promotion challenge.

Having initially joined the Glovers for a one-month loan stint in 2016, Walsh extended his stay in Somerset until the campaign's conclusion - going on to make fifteen appearances and bag himself a confidence-bolstering goal whilst at Huish Park.

Then last term he was a prominent feature in Everton's under-23 squad; appearing in 19 outings where he netted on five occasions and earned himself a further five assists, as well as contribute to another two in the controversial EFL Trophy.

From the awe-inspiring statistics you can see why Liam Walsh is thought to be a promising midfielder in the Premier League at some point, but Luton Town could really benefit with his services throughout the 2016/17 season.

Luton Town supporters, does Jake Gray need replacing? Would you welcome Liam Walsh? What qualities does the young talent contribute? Tell us your opinions in the comment section below!
