Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen has brought a number of new faces to Elland Road this summer, as he prepares his side for another crack at breaking into the top six and finally achieving the return to the Premier League, Whites fans so desperately crave.

Foreign imports have been the order of business, with the likes of Ezgjan Alioski, Samuel Saiz and Caleb Ekuban linking up with the West Yorkshire outfit in the past few weeks, but the most important transfer pulled off by the club this year is undoubtedly the permanent capture of defender, Pontus Jansson.

The Swede spent last season on loan at the club, and became instrumental as Garry Monk’s men just missed out on a play-off spot.

Leeds actually made Jansson’s transfer permanent in February, but was coveted by a number of clubs this summer once the deal with former club Torino had gone through.

The 13 cap international was wanted by a number of European outfits, but convincing him to stay will ultimately prove to be the most important turning point of Leeds’ summer.

The Championship Team of the Season representative is a dominant force at the back, and his leadership inspired the club to their excellent run last season.

Alongside Wood, Jansson will be the most important man in Christiansen’s squad, and could prove the difference between promotion and yet another season at this level.

Leeds fans, who do you think will be your most important player next season?
