Falling out of favour with a new manager is common place, with many new bosses opting to bring their own men into the club at the expense of previous club stalwarts.

England number one Joe Hart became victim to this practice when former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola arrived at Manchester City, and the then 29-year-old was shipped to Italy to spend a season on loan with Torino.

Hart has two years remaining on his current deal with the Citizens, and another loan deal looks likely with no clubs keen to match City’s unrealistic demands for a permanent switch.

The shot stopper has been linked in recent days with a loan to Aston Villa, and if a Premier League move does not materialise, Hart should take the opportunity potentially afforded to him by Steve Bruce.

Villa are in the market for a goalkeeper, and Hart would be guaranteed first team football in Birmingham.

There is no reason why Hart playing in the Championship will seriously hamper his England chances. I mean, Jay Bothroyd got a call up whilst playing for Cardiff in the division!

A conversation with England boss Gareth Southgate could settle his nerves, and playing in English football would give the manager and any potential suitors, the opportunity to watch Hart on a weekly basis.

Dropping down a division is not the end of the world for Hart, and with John Terry having signed for the Villains in recent days, Hart should definitely consider the West Midlands side as a potential landing spot.
