Bristol City winger Callum O'Dowda has been key in the Robins' rise into the Championship play-offs, scoring three times and assisting five more.

But it looks like they may struggle to hang onto him past the current season with a new deal unlikely to be struck before the summer, according to Bristol Live.

He will have a year remaining on his current deal by the end of the season and, after this latest revelation, it could hand a big boost to Leeds United who were interested in the attacker back in January.

O'Dowda was named as an alternative to Swansea's Daniel James as a winger the club were interested in bringing in, although the Welshman was always their first choice.

In the end, no new wide man arrived at Elland Road with a deal for James falling through right at the last minute in January.

So, is this latest news a boost for Leeds?

We discuss...

Chris Gallagher

"Without a doubt, but it's also a boost for everyone else!

"O'Dowda is a very good player and there will be a lot more than Leeds in for him during the summer.

"However, it seems likely that he will leave Bristol City and the Whites should certainly try and bring him to Elland Road."

Jacob Potter

"What a boost this is for Leeds.

"There will be concerns that they might not land Daniel James again in the summer, but after this latest update, O'Dowda should be top of their list.

"He is proven at this level and would fit perfectly into Marcelo Bielsa's side."

Louie Chandler

"This makes things very interesting indeed.

"Particularly in how this latest revelation could affect Daniel James' outlook at Swansea City after his deadline day move fell through.

"It seems it could drive him to push for a move to Elland Road more or perhaps persuade him to play it safe and sign a new deal at the Liberty."
