Coventry City manager Mark Robins is cracking on with his summer transfer business with Dutch winger Gervane Kastaneer the latest to arrive at the club, having moved from Dutch side NAC Breda, as confirmed on the club website.

Kastaneer, 23, was born in the Netherlands, but represents the Curaçao national football team internationally having previously played his club football for Dordrecht, ADO Den Haag, FC Eindhoven and Kaiserslautern.

So is Kastaneer a good addition to the Coventry squad?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"This looks very promising.

"A young pacey winger, Kastaneer should inject a fresh impetus for Coventry next season, and could push them on towards the play-offs, having gone close last season.

"Kastaneer's top flight experience in Holland means that he should be easily capable of holding his own in League One, and it will be interesting to see just how big an impact he will have for the Sky Blues next season.

"Given the recent disappointment around the loss of their own home ground for the coming campaign, this may well be a welcome piece of news for those around the club."

George Brooks

"This could be a good signing for Coventry.

"I must admit, I don't know much about Kastaneer, but he seems like a promising player on paper and I think this is the sort of signing that will excite Coventry fans.

"He's a good age and he's already got a decent amount of experience in Europe and a good goalscoring record.

"He's got pace, power and technical ability and it seems like he's not afraid to get stuck in, which will be very important as he looks to adapt to English football.

"Obviously he has no experience of English football, so there's an element of risk there for Coventry, but he seems like the sort of player who will be able to make an impact in League One."

Jacob Potter

"For a League One club, this could prove to be an excellent bit of business by the Sky Blues as they prepare for next season.

"Kastaneer made 21 appearances for NAC Breda in the Dutch top-flight which is a higher standard compared to League One.

"He’s had experience of playing against some top teams in the Netherlands and he’ll be keen to make a name for himself in English football.

"He’s still got age on his side at the age of 23, and he’s also still playing on the international stage for Curacao as well, which makes him somewhat of a coup for Coventry in my opinion.

"There’s always some sort of a risk with a signing like this as he hasn’t got any experience of playing in England.

"But if he can hit the ground running, then this could prove to be a smart signing by Coventry.

"He could well be the striker they’ve been crying out for to fire them into promotion contention."
