QPR manager Mark Warburton continues to fine-tune his squad ahead of the new Championship season, with R's duo Sean Goss and David Wheeler heading for the Loftus Road exit door, the 56-year-old has told West London Sport.

Both Goss and Wheeler spent time away from the club last season, with Goss moving to St Johnstone for the second half of the season, while Wheeler was first being loaned to Portsmouth before moving to MK Dons.

So are QPR right to let Goss and Wheeler leave?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"This looks to be the right call.

"Goss and Wheeler have both struggled to make any sort of impact during their time at the club, and with just 12 months to go on their contracts, it makes sense to try and get some sort of a fee for them while they can.

"That is only enhanced by the number of incoming transfers QPR have secured so far in the window, and any departures that do take place should not only fund the deals, but also provide space in the wage budget to help pay those new recruits.

"Even so, this may still be something that proves to be easier said than done, as it is hard to see either player’s record attracting too many suitors, and even if they do, you can’t imagine that interest will be coming from clubs willing to break the bank them."

Bowyer says Dijksteel is not for sale, boost for Charlton?

Louie Chandler

"I think it probably is.

"QPR do not have the strongest squad in the league but they have strengthened significantly this summer, so looking to off load unnecessary wages may be a smart move.

"Goss has very little chance of breaking into the Rangers midfield this season with Cameron, Eze and Luongo still competing and, at 28, Wheeler should be looking to move on as well.

"The board and the fans need to trust Warburton this summer."

Alfie Burns

“You feel that it is all part of the process Warburton has been asked to oversee this summer at Loftus Road.

“Warburton has gone in and shaken things up within the squad, with incomings and outgoings seemingly non-stop.

“Getting rid of two more in Goss and Wheeler might well work out well if Warburton can get valuable replacements through the door, but on the other hand it could look a poor move.

“But, saying that, it won’t look the only poor move if the R’s find themselves battling towards the bottom end of the Championship table in a couple of months.”
