After gaining promotion back to the Championship as the champions of League One, Sheffield United will be hoping to become the surprise package next season.

An excellent season for Chris Wilder and Sheffield United saw the South Yorkshire club become an unstoppable force in League One, as they became one of only a handful of clubs to break the hundred point threshold in League One.

To build on the momentum developed throughout the season and ready the squad for a long Championship campaign, the summer transfer window could prove crucial for Chris Wilder and Sheffield United.

However, considering the emphatic nature of Sheffield United's return to the Championship, Chris Wilder will be careful not to disrupt the harmony of the squad by bringing in too many new arrivals.

One player that Chris Wilder should be keeping an eye on is Liverpool's 20-year-old winger Ryan Kent who has spent last season on loan at South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

After impressing in League One with Coventry City during the 2015-16 season, Ryan Kent stepped up a level and showed that he is very comfortable performing at Championship level with Barnsley.

Having made 44 appearances in the Championship with Barnsley which included three goals and three assists, the young Liverpool loanee certainly impressed at Oakwell as he earned the accolade of Barnsley's young player of the year.

After returning to Liverpool, although the 20-year-old winger has the ambition to compete for a regular first team place, it is expected that the Liverpool academy graduate will be loaned to the Championship once again.

As a Championship-ready player with raw pace and energy to play on either flank, Ryan Kent would be the perfect fit for Sheffield United.
