Aston Villa suffered a bit of an eye-opener at the weekend in the Championship as they aim to hunt promotion back to the Premier League this year.

In recent weeks, Villa have looked a much better side and going into the game against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday they would have felt as though they could have won the game. Wolves, though, were the only side to turn up and it is clear that Villa need a bit more - especially in those attacking areas if they are to compete with the Black Country side for the title.

With that in mind, then, it's time Villa use their reputation and clout to try and bring in a star forward to help out Jonathan Kodjia and we think Danny Ings from Liverpool would be ideal. The Liverpool man has not had much luck at Anfield since signing and injuries have cost him the chance of a real run in the side.

He is, though, back fit now but it still looks as though he is going to have to be patient to try and get back in the side with a loan deal potentially something he'd be interested in. Certainly, if he's going to be a Liverpool success he needs to get sharp and scoring goals and surely for Villa he'd do that.

He'd arguably be their best forward if he hits the ground running - boosting his confidence no end - whilst Villa would become serious title contenders.
