Leeds United

This Leeds United man can become a club legend if he can continue his excellent start

Leeds United have enjoyed a phenomenal start to life under Thomas Christiansen, and last night’s victory over Birmingham City, coupled with Cardiff’s defeat to Preston, ensured the Whites ended the evening at the summit of the Championship table.

Few could have scarcely predicted the impact the Dane would make following his appointment earlier in the summer, and although it is very early in the season, there are no signs that the club will slow down in their title charge.

Christiansen has made huge personnel changes since his arrival, cutting the dead weight from the squad that had built up under previous management, and replacing the departed with a plethora of exciting talents.

Looking to the continent was a theme in Christiansen’s recruitment, and his astute work alongside Director of Football Victor Orta has ensured the club have captured a range of top-class, largely unknown talent from across Europe.

Ezgjan Alioski has taken to the league with aplomb since joining from the Swiss league, and Pierre-Michel Lasogga marked his arrival from Hamburg with a double on his debut against Burton Albion.

The capture of Pawel Cibicki could also prove to be a snare, with top European clubs having kept an eye on the Swedish born player during the previous season.

Not one player has failed to impress for the club this season, and with such a distribution of talent and depth within the squad, it is hard to see how Christiansen’s men will be stopped.

The Dane has answered all of the questions asked of him upon his arrival, and the fact that he has strengthened the squad so dramatically despite the departure of Chris Wood speaks volumes for the work done behind the scenes.

Results on the pitch will determine his success, and if the former Spanish international midfielder can continue his side’s form and rapid descent, then he could become achieve legendary status at the famous, old, Elland Road club.

Leeds fans, how confident are you of promotion this season?
