Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa's translator has shared a positive message for the club's fans whilst the Championship takes a break for this weekend's internationals.

Salim Lamrani took to Instagram to share a photo of club captain Liam Cooper along with the quote: "our role is to leave the jersey in a better place" as well as the famous club chant 'marching on together'.

The Frenchman has only been involved in football for just over a year after first partnering up with Bielsa in Lille last year.

The Marseille fan came to the Argentinian's attention after publishing a series of articles on the Lille boss and when the pair were introduced in South America, Bielsa offered him a job as his translator.

Lamrani was a highly regarded historian and writer before his work as a translator and wrote several books on the relationship between the USA and Cuba.

Leeds sit in an impressive third place with 12 games played in the Championship season as they head into the international break.

A 1-1 draw against Brentford at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon meant they slipped down from top-spot with Sheffield United and West Brom jumping above them into first and second respectively.

The verdict

It is great to see every member of the Leeds camp truly buying into the project that is currently ongoing at Elland Road.

Lamrani will be an important person this season as the relationship between Bielsa and the fans seems to be of increasing importance.

As the man tasked with passing on those messages, Lamrani's importance cannot be underestimated.
