Queens Park Rangers have had a very inconsistent season so far and that has seen them float around mid-table for the majority of the campaign.

They've seemingly turned a corner defensively over the past few weeks and have now kept two clean sheets in their last three Championship games.

It is positive signs ahead of next season, and one man who has been at the heart of the recent run of results is defender Ryan Manning.

The full-back came back into the team for QPR's midweek trip to Swansea City and was influential in helping the side keep a clean sheet whilst also playing a pivotal role in being a link from the backline to the wingers.

He's got so much potential still, and just last week the R's triggered a contract extension for the player that will see him stay at the club for at least all of next season.

Manning has also been linked with a move to Premier League sides, with Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly keen on the versatile player earlier in the season.

He's certainly one to look out for in the future, and if he can stay fit and be a threat going forward then he's one of the Championship's best players and he'll only improve heading into the next couple of years.

It will be interesting to see how he ends the season, and to see if he can keep this much-needed consistency going. On Saturday his performance in the league against fifth-placed Nottingham Forest was one to be admired, and showed a high level of maturity.

Clubs may be after him in the summer though, and the R's must do all they can to ensure that he stays at the club along with other young talents such as Bright Osayi-Samuel and Eberechi Eze.
