Middlesbrough will be hoping they can fight off the competition and seal a spot in the playoffs come the end of the Championship season, as Tony Pulis looks to guide the Riverside club back to the Premier League.

Boro made a slow start to the campaign but have picked up since Pulis came in, and have become an efficient side in the second tier who are capable of beating most teams on their day.

Led by the ever impressive forward play of Patrick Bamford, Pulis' team may well be the team who sneak into the top six and win it all come May, and a place in the top flight is not beyond them based on their current squad and form.

The summer will no doubt see the club venture into the market once again, and Pulis has made no secret of his desire to bring in some fresh talent to the squad.

One player who we think could be an excellent signing for the Boro is Barnsley defender come winger Andy Yiadom, who has once again impressed for the Tykes and drawn a whole host of admiring glances from onlooking clubs.

Yiadom is a class act, and has remained loyal to Barnsley despite having plenty of interest. A player capable of getting up and down the flank and equally adept at both attacking and defending, he would be the sort of signing who might go under the radar but form a key part of the Boro squad.

Barnsley will want to keep their man, but Yiadom will be keen to test himself higher up, and with the Reds in danger of dropping into League One, a move to the North East with Boro could be the perfect move.
