Premier League table-toppers Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Leeds United star Jack Clarke, according to Football Insider.

News had surfaced over the last couple of weeks that top-flight champions Manchester City as well as title rivals Chelsea were interested in signing the 18-year old, who has flourished under Marcelo Bielsa this term.

Here, we discuss whether he'd be a good signing for Liverpool...

George Harbey

A move to Liverpool would be a dream move for many young players, and this is no different with Clarke.

He's a sensational talent and has already proven himself to be a threat, having assisted Pablo Hernandez for his late goal against Sheffield United.

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

Alfie Burns

Clarke is an extremely talented footballer who looks to have enough about him to go right to the top.

He’s probably not ready for Liverpool yet, but getting in ahead of some of their rivals would be no bad thing.

If the likes of City are moving for him, so should the Reds.

Gary Hutchinson

It baffles me.

All these big clubs want to hoard young talent and we’re expected to think it’s good?

What is good about stunting development? Sure, they have top coaches, but nothing prepares you for a great career like first-team football.

No, this isn’t a good move. Stay with Leeds, break through the right way.
