Huddersfield manager David Wagner is looking to the Championship as he strives to recruit the firepower that can keep his struggling side in the Premier League with Brentford striker Neal Maupay top of the list, according to The Sun.
Maupay 22, has been on fire so far this season scoring 10 goals in 10 appearances for the Bees and has proved to be a vital component in Dean Smith's promotion chasing side.
So is the interest from Premier League side Huddersfield a worry for Brentford?
We discuss.....
Jay Taylor
Pretty worrying.
Neal Maupay is on form and the main goal-getter for Brentford, if he goes there would be a massive void in the final third.
On the other hand, £10million is a lot of money and could buy a pretty decent replacement, but that will be no consolation to the Bees who rely on their talismanic forward.
Gary Hutchinson
Yes, in so much as they might lose their player.
However, it isn’t entirely unexpected is it?
They know if he keeps scoring, someone is going to bid for him
I suppose time will tell how attractive a move is. If the Terriers are bottom three, don’t expect him to move.
George Harbey
This is very worrying for the Bees.
Maupay’s goals have almost single handedly taken them to the upper echelons of the league and it could be a huge blow if he leaves in January.
Is it really a step up though? Huddersfield look destined for the drop after a poor start, whereas Brentford could be serious promotion contenders.
Jacob Potter
Maupay has been in excellent form this season and it will be a real concern for Bees fans should they lose their star man who has already scored ten goals in ten appearances for his side this season.
I highly doubt they will find someone who is as prolific as a replacement this season.
