Middlesbrough have started this season very well and are looking strong in the Sky Bet Championship.

Certainly, they've got a fine looking squad at the moment and according to Teamtalk they are confident of adding Jason Puncheon and George Saville.

Will both be good signings? We take a look...

This is top business.

Boro already have a squad that is capable of promotion to the Premier League, and bringing in these two just enhances it even more.

Both players are excellent technical players that will bring experience and depth to Tony Pulis' side.

Saville has been a key performer for Millwall over the last few seasons and if he can translate his form to Boro, then it's a shrewd signing.

On his day, Jason Puncheon can terrorise opposition defences with his direct, pacey dribbling ability and he could flourish at Boro.

Gary Hutchinson

I'm certainly not sure about Puncheon, after chasing Bolasie and having Traore, it seems like a big down grade to me.

Saville is different, he's been great for Millwall and will offer something different, but I'm not entirely sure he'll play many games.

Pulis doesn't pack the midfield and Mo Besic has just moved there, so will Saville fit in?

Dare I say, there's a bit of panic about this double deal. Pulis took stick for flopping before the permanent window shut, now he's panic buying.

George Dagless

They bolster the squad absolutely.

Whether or not both get into the first-team regularly remains to be seen but they will enhance competition for places without doubt.

Puncheon knows what Pulis wants and should bring plenty of industry whilst Saville is a player who could really kick-on at Boro.
