Brighton currently sit 2nd in the Championship as they attempt to go again after last years play off heartbreak, at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday.

Chris Hughton managed to keep hold of all of his key players and has added quality in Ollie Norwood and Shane Duffy, to fully equip themselves for the promotion race ahead.

Brighton were the surprise package last year and their strength in depth showed at the end of the season when key players were missing, they couldn't replace them with quality, which may have ultimately cost them.

Quite simply, the aim for Brighton this season, is promotion. However, with all the quality in the league this season they will find it tough once again, but with their extra quality this year, they are better equipped this time around

Brighton have some top players in their side but who would make it into a five-a-side team? FLW writer Chris Wilson takes a look here...

Goalkeeper - David Stockdale

The Brighton shot stopper certainly knows how to keep the ball out of the net and boasts an impressive record of 17 clean sheets from last season. Stockdale has four clean sheets in his last six games which has lead to Brighton picking up three wins in the games he kept clean sheets.

Stockdale could hold the key to Brighton getting promoted if he can keep clean sheets, and Hughton will be confident his attackers can nick a goal and they could pick up plenty of points.

Defender - Lewis Dunk

The tough tackling defender is part of a solid back four and has impressed over the last two years. Dunk also has a good goal scoring record after netting four times last season.

Dunk is a rock at the back as well as being comfortable on the ball, he has all the attributes required to go right to the top. If Brighton don't get up this year, I'm sure Dunk will have offers coming his way for a move to the Premier League.

Great player to have in a 5-a-side team for ensuring a solid defence and with him in the team, they wouldn't concede many goals whilst he could also prove to be a goal threat himself.

Midfield - Anthony Knockaert

The tricky winger scored five goals and got six assists in his half season at Brighton and has earned a reputation as one of the championship's best players.

Knockaert has the ability to breeze past players like they aren't even there. It is a gift that not many players have, especially in the championship and he could have Premier League clubs looking at him in January.

Having Knockaert in a 5-a-side team would lead to a countless amount of chances created on top of his goal threat.

Midfield - Beram Kayal

This hard working midfielder is one of the best in the league. He possesses quality going forward and has an eye for a goal and an assist but doesn't neglect his defensive duties.

Kayal provides a balance to Brighton with his attacking threat and eye for a killer pass but also his work rate and ability to win the ball back.

This would make him perfect for a 5-a-side team, providing plenty chances for his team mates but also doing the work to get back and help out his centre half.

Striker - Glenn Murray

This instinctive finisher is lethal in front of goal and has a great goalscoring record at championship level including the 12/13 season at Crystal Palace where he scored 30 goals in 42 games.

Murrays goal scoring prowess is exactly what Brighton need. He also has experience of promotion to the Premier League before, with Crystal Palace.

Murray would be perfect for a 5-a-side team, with 3 players behind him, he wouldn't have to work overly hard and he still knows where the net is when he gets a chance.
